Addiction

Addictive thoughts can be located, re-imagined, and provided with new themes for living.
— Linton Davey

The effects of addiction are widely known: they're physical, psychological, emotional. Addiction takes control of personal choices and behaviours: it appears to have all the power, and seems to make all the decisions. Or does it?

Addiction grows out of a thought, and while some addictions are noticeable to us and to others, some are subtly there as we move through our daily life. They become difficult for us to detect, analyse or describe: often disguised as comfort or reward. Addictions become cloaked by emotion, impacting us and those closest to us.

The Process Room intercepts addiction using a combination of hypnotherapy and strategic psychotherapy. We understand that addictions are running a complex process of actions responding to thoughts and emotions. Whether they’re about food or alcohol, shopping, gambling or even thrill-seeking, thoughts that support our loss of control over life can be located, re-imagined and provided with new themes for living: themes supporting optimal personal power, consistent self-control and a life free from the grip of addiction.
